Bringing to life the identity, conference, and exhibition graphics for an ambitious project: Creating an engaging environment to foster dialogue and captivate attendees.
Overview :
The State of Architecture in South Asia is a multi-year research initiative by Harvard GSD, South Asia GSD, Architecture Foundation India, and the Mittal Institute. This project highlights the critical role of architecture in the public realm, exploring a range of significant questions. They approached us to design the project’s identity, along with the visuals and panel design for the conference and travelling exhibition. Both these components were centred around the theme "Architectures of Transition."

(BRAND IDENTITY)
Considering the nature of the project, we designed a type-heavy logo that employs a bolder font weight to emphasise "SouthAsia," the central theme, deliberately written as one word to highlight its unifying factor. The integrated "+" symbol represents inclusivity and unity among the participating countries, further underlining the collaborative spirit of the project.
(CONFERENCE THEME)
Inspired by the theme "Architectures of Transition," we developed graphics that seamlessly integrated across various print and digital materials for the conference. Embracing this theme, we infused the essence of transition into every element of our visual language. From typography and colour palettes to motion design, we crafted an immersive experience that captivated attendees.
(CONFERENCE ACTIVATION)
We brought the online and offline conference activation to life by continuing the brand language of transition. We created a digital framework to unveil announcements, schedules, speakers, and themes, generating excitement around the event. At the venue, we activated the space with large-scale banners, lecterns, and pamphlets. The vibrant gradients guided attendees and enlivened the conference environment.
(EXHIBITION  DESIGN)
For the travelling exhibition, we designed the graphics and panel frameworks to showcase the exceptional works of 41 emerging architectural firms in South Asia. We created adaptable templates that balanced text, visuals, and architectural drawings. Our meticulous process emphasised information design, ensuring a seamless layout that provided a visually captivating experience when all the panels were viewed together.
